It is no exaggeration to say that Robinson Tower is actually A gem-like beacon in CBD. Not only offer the Grade-A Office and Retail Space within the signature boutique structure by the internationally-acclaimed Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) and Architects 61 and the prime location in D1, it also features The Hi-tech Automated Car Parking by the time of its TOP in 2018.
When completed next year, Robinson Tower will offer its tenants an automated car-park system using Automated Guided Vehicles that is developed by engineering firm MHE-Demag. Now the vehicle owners can get a robot as their valet when driving to CBD. The great thing is that Robotic Parking Fee will be "similar" to other normal carparks.
The robots that are guided by cameras, lasers and the marks on the ground will ferry your cars from the existing drop-off point to the nearest parking lot available. The maximum weight of the vehicle is 2,600kg.
In the world, there are many buildings have offered the Hi-tech Automated Parking for their residents, however, with the Robinson Tower Redevelopment, it is the first time for the innovative application in Singapore.
The system doesn't require parking pallets and steel supporting structures like normal mechanised parking systems. Before moving them, the only platform they stand on is parking pallets. No need for any additional building provision, the system can be adapted into a conventional parking provision in any buildings.
Along the street from Robin Tower, you will be charged a parking fee of $3.10 per half hour between 7.am and 6.pm at weekend. The way mechanised systems works is that mechanical car lifters will carry your car to a storage space. During the periods, you will take around 10-15 minutes to retrieve a car from the carparks.
With the automated system, you only need to use a mobile app and get the car retrieved just within 2 minutes. The great offering of "relatively faster" parking and retrieval times for the busy-working Singapore.
MHE-Demag has planned to introduce the Hi-Tech System to "some other locations and developments" after Robinson Tower in District 1. Then they get started to make the technology's debut in other countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.
Most people in Singapore don’t even know what the Robotic Parking means, however once you witness, for sure you will fall in love. Why isn't the first one to get the trendy hi-tech experience? Just be a part of Robinson Tower!
